Robot Framework for Fun and Profit

July 1, 2020 @ 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm UTC-4

About the Event:
Join Ministry of Testing Atlanta and Mike Rucker of Incomm for a night of fun filled with automation as we learn about Robot Framework.

Robot Framework is an open source test automation and RPA framework. It utilizes human-readable keywords, with capabilities that can be extended by libraries implemented with Python or Java. These libraries and tools are developed as separate projects, with the core framework implemented using Python, Jython (JVM) and IronPython (.NET).

Mike has used Robot Framework the past couple of years to test applications comprising batch file processing, APIs, UIs, and databases. He has found it as an easy platform to use and a good way to get all QAs involved. He will share some details on the framework, and discuss what they have done at Incomm to make it successful.

All levels are welcome to join.

About the speaker:

Mike Rucker would prefer to be known as a world-famous songwriter and rock star, but for the betterment of humanity he has decided his time is more productively spent in test automation. Believe it or not, Mike has spent the past forty years (!!!) doing various software development tasks, even conning Georgia Tech into giving him a degree in 1983. Initially a developer, Mike moved into manual testing and then into automated testing, and then spent fifteen years as a Senior Manager at companies like Accenture, Cox Communications, and General Motors. Five years ago he decided he wanted to go back to earning his paycheck, so he returned to his roots of testing and test automation. He’s been wreaking havoc at Incomm for the last nineteen months; they’ve apparently just been slow in finding it out…
