December Job Networking for the Atlanta Agile Community (online/zoom)

December 9, 2020 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm UTC-5

This meetup is open to anyone interested in agile jobs or other related technical opportunities. Our goal is to offer opportunities for individuals to build connections with each other as well as to build their networks.

Each person will have the opportunity to introduce yourself. Others may attend and participate without formally introducing themselves. Recruiters or anyone wanting to announce job openings are welcome.

✳✳INTRODUCTIONS✳✳

Each introduction will take about 2 minutes and will work as follows:
▶ Step 1: You will first post your contact information in the chat window.

Chris Niven
christopherniven@hotmail.com
linkedin.com/in/christopherniven

▶ Step 2: You will give a brief description of your current or last job.

▶ Step 3: A brief statement of what you are looking for for your next opportunity. This can be your “elevator speech”.

▶ Step 4: One or two questions from other attendees

✳✳AUDIENCE ROLE DURING INTRODUCTIONS✳✳
✔ Use linked in to connect to the person speaking.
✔ stay engaged

✳✳AUDIENCE ROLE THROUGOUT✳✳

from an article by Ian Lecklinter (https://melmagazine.com/en-us/story/virtual-networking-ideas)
…In order to do that, Ancowitz suggests bringing her four “Is” to the conversation:

✔ Information: Exchange intel about the field, like trends and comings and goings of top executives.

✔ Insights: Listen thoughtfully and offer insights.
Introductions: If they’re looking to expand their network, offer to connect them with people you know.

✔ Invitations: “Hey, I’m joining a webinar next Wednesday with an amazing speaker on data analytics in our field. Here’s the link, in case you want to join, too, and compare notes afterward.”

✔ Finally, try your best to look engaged. “When connecting with someone via video, it helps to look directly into the camera while talking, so they feel like you’re looking at them directly,” says efficiency and executive coach Nicola Brown.

(Note: We have a no solicitation policy. I.e. you may not offer paid resume reviews, paid job coaching, paid training, etc. through our group).
